Somaliland: Diaspora Agency Releases Targeted Drought Relief Contribution from the Diaspora


Somalilandsun- In pursuit of chipping in to the national Drought relief fundraiser the Somaliland Diaspora Agency-SLDA has appealed for donations from its constituency, Somalilanders in the Diapsora.

In an SLDA statement signed by its chairman Abdi Abdilahi Hirsi “Dayaxweerar” the agency intents to contribute over half a million dollars from the total target of $10m set by the national drought relief committee.
Accordingly the SLDA which has received pledges the Somaliland Diaspora in 27 countries gave the amount of pledges so far made as in the table below
Urging even a higher amount than the targeted one the Chairman Dayaxweerar said that the timeframe for the fundraiser that official begun on 18th May and ends on the 26th June is ample for all branches to forward their contributions to the very noble cause resulting from the severest drought to affect Somaliland in over six decades that also ensued with regular Independence Day commemorations scrapped this year.
