Somalilandsun – A Puntland administration feast prepared for its vice president Abdihakim Abdilahi Omar ‘Amey’ ended up on the table of Somaliland army soldiers.
The sumptuous meal which VP Amey was supposed to partake in after parleying residents of the Tukaraq village in Sool region of Somaliland almost went cold following the about turn back to Garowe following movements by Somaliland army units around Higilo trading centre, a few kilometers from Tukaraq.
At the failed mission in Tukaraq village which is 26 kms from Garowe the capital the Somalia administrative region of Puntland VP Amey who is originally from Buhoodle in Somaliland had the objective of soliciting community support for a base for soldiers from his government.
According to Lieutenant Abdi Hasan Mahad who led the Somaliland army unit the Puntland VP who was leading a 170 strong unit of Dervish troops turned back after movement by the SL army unit became known.
“Our mission which was to capture VP Amey the minute he steps into Somaliland soil concluded with my troops relieving their disappointment with the kingly feast made available by Puntland authorities.
Our sources in the east of the country indicate that the Puntland move to establish a military beach head in Tukaraq is geared towards facilitating the ease of placing the now on-training 3000 strong special force deep inside territories under Somaliland jurisdiction in the east.
While disclosing the secret army funded by the Somalia Federal Government –SFG in Mogadishu Recently interior minister Mohamed Ali Waran’ade who warned that Somaliland shall repel fire with deadly fire also caution on the security implications of such an outfit in the wider Horn region. This threat was repeated by President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo during his independence day address in Hargeisa on 18th May 2015
