AINABO (Somalilandsun) – Sarar regional Security forces have foiled an attempt to release prisoners by armed gunmen at the Ainabo prison.
The gunmen who attacked the prison late in the evening failed to achieve their objective after they were repulsed by security forces who sustained two injured and one death.
The dead officer was identified as the Sarar regional intelligence officer who sustained serious that resulted in his death while being transported together with the other two injured to Burao for medical attention.
Both The Sarar regional governments in Ainabo and central government officials from the ministry of interior in Hargeisa are yet to issue official comments.
This is the first of such incidences to be reported in the country
