HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The chairman of the opposition political party UCID Eng. Feisal Ali Warabe nearly had a fight with a member of cabinet in President Silanyo’s administration.
The rumble took place in a ceremony of presenting journalists with awards that included 4 Somaliland nationals.
Speaking at the function, the UCID chief sternly accused the Government policies especially the unwarranted arrests of the journalists and the ill planned upcoming general election. The Minister of labour and social affairs Hon. Mohamud Ahmed Bare (Garad) in defending the critics spoke in parables and at the same time using Somali proverbs said” Feisal this war you have declared against the Government will cause you headache” he added” if you speak everyday people will say he comes again”, the chairman took it personal and in the blink of an eye aimed the mobile set he had in hand wanting to strike him. Luckily the member of WADDANI party Mr. Mohamed Osman Fadal grabbed the Eng. And the Minister of information Hon. Ukuse got in between the fighters. Present at the function were UN representatives who presided over the award.
Later on, outside the venue & out of good empathy the information Min. made peace between the two honorable before making them shake hands.
