Somalilandsun- The Government is planning a US$2.5 billion capital investment to build industrial parks in the Amhara, Oromia, Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ and Tigray Regional States.
A statement from the Ministry of Industry on Friday (September 4) said that there were no agro-processing industries in a number of areas in which there was a surplus of agricultural products.
The Government had, therefore, decided to carry out feasibility studies for a series of industrial parks to provide for this deficit. Having looked into the potential for investment in livestock and fish, sesame, spices and honey, it had now selected more than 17 sites for agro-processing.
