HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The President H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamoud Silanyo has just ended a weekly up-country tour criss-crossing four regions in an unprecedented development oriented hectic schedule.

The Head of State notably cautioned the members of the public to desist from lending ears distracting voices that are only out to divisively rend communities asunder.

The President was retorting to opposition figures who publicly decried his country tours, an issue that confounds both friends and foes.

“I passionately plead to the people to precisely take caution against those who are only out to cause discord in communal settings”, said the President to a multitude at Odweine in Dad-madeed region.

“Their words are always none other than those creating wedges amongst the brethren”, he said of the purported national forum for consultation led by Hassan Guure.

Incidentally, both Hassan Guure and UCID chairman Feisal Ali Warabe both reportedly cried wolf upon the Presidential up-country tours.

The former alleged it to be “illegal” while the latter termed it “waste of funds”.

The President wondered loudly whether Burao or the other regions weren’t parts of the country.

The Presidential whirlwind weeklong tour that saw dozens of public infrastructures and developmental aspects either opened after completion or new projects being started are unprecedented for a searving head of state in the country’s history.

The climax of the projects happens to be the monumental mega tasks of building the 370km road connecting Burao to Erigavo which would definitely catalyze and multiply ten-fold other aspects of infrastructural developments.

So, too, would the Burao – Odweine Hargeisa road, which is under construction, do.

The President first opened the new senior Armed Forces academy in Dararweine before embarking on his upcountry tour. With multitudes of populace lined up along all the roads his convoy took, ululation of hilarious welcoming and residents send off depicting all points of the tour.

At Berbera, the President opened a new two story health centre, a public library, a new office block for the ports authority, much needed hygienic public to lavatories and two tarmac roads.

The bulk of the hectic schedule saw the Head of State lay the foundation stones for the long overdue Burao-Erigavo road, three schools, two at Suleiman Kulul estate of October area (secondary) and a primary one at Mohammed Ali Estate.

So, too, did he lay foundation stones for a police station at Adan Suleiman Estate.

The President inspected and toured ongoing projects such as the orphanage centre, a 200 residential UN Habitat sponsored flats, the new abattoir, Burao University and the Burao-Odweine road.

He received four keys for land/earth movers from the Togdheer Development Committee Chairman Ali Mohammed Aden Deri, which the President in turn, handed over to the SRA.

Apart from presiding over the first graduation ceremony of Golis University (a batch of 150) the Head of State also opened a new officers’ mess building for the army’s 12th battalion.

Several leaders emotionally underpinned the importance of realizing the Erigavo-Burao, a dream held dearly for long.

Amongst them Presidency Minister Hon. Hersi Hassan Ali and Mr. M.A. Deri, were vividly happy.

At Odweine the President opened a new customs/ revenue office and a state lodge.

He appreciated the developmental efforts made by Haud region at Salahley and Balliguable.

So, too, did he lay foundation projects for new law courts and agricultural ministry buildings, and a security perimeter block fence for the regional police headquarters.

All along the various points in his journey, the President reiterated the need for keeping peace and stability hence step up efforts in nation building.
