HARGEISA (Somaliland sun) – The leadership dispute among senior UCID party members is set for external resolution.
This follows the submission of a case against Party leader Eng Feisal Ali Warabe forwarded to the Somaliland Political Party Registration and Verification Committee-PPR&VC by party presidential hopeful Jamal Ali Hussein.
Acknowledging receipt of a conflict resolution request submitted by the Jamal faction the Committee’s chair Abdirizaq Iyale told reporters that after carefull perusal of grievances and hearings for both sides a solution shall be reached based on justice and the imperatives of deterring complete party collapse.
The UCID party wrangles revolve around the issue of whether Jamal Ali should be challenged by other party hopefuls as eventual flag bearer in presidential elections slated for March 2017, a position supported by Eng Warabe and vehemently opposed by the Jamal faction.
while resolution of this wrangles shall bring a sigh of relief to staunch party members the PPR&VC is yet to set a timeframe for action.
