HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) 11 prominent personalities have been tasked with overseeing activities of Hargeisa University, the main Somaliland public institution of higher learning
The new Hargeisa University board of Trustees was appointed by president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo In a Presidential Decree # JSL/M/XERM/249-4264/092016, in which the appointees we also urge to harness their diverse capabilities towards facilitating apt profusion of academic excellence in collaboration with ministry of education, HU administration, student body and parents.
The new board joins the institution as it basks from its recent graduation, the 13th in which president Silanyo officiated at a ceremony where 862 candidates were bachelor degrees after successful completion of academic calendars while senior elder Haji Abdi Warabe earned a honourary PH.D in Politics
The new Board of Trustees are :

3. Abdillahi Ibrahim Habane,Minister of Education
4. Ali Abdillahi Dahir, National ICT Commission Chairman

6. Abdirahman Mohamoud Aydid, Mayor of Hargeisa
7. Dr. Mohamoud Yusuf Muse, UoH Rector
8. Mohamed Farah Hersi, Somaliland Academy for Peace & Development
9. Abdiradshid Mohamed Saeed, Private Sector
