HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Somaliland minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohamed Behi Yunis has denied intent to resign.
At an interview with the Geeska Newspaper the foreign minister not only denied having submitted a resignation letter but existence of any conflict with the head of state president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo as reported by a number of local web based news outlets.
“Contrary to some reports my relationship both official and personal with president Silanyo is apt as always” said Mohamed Behi who also informed that he is still the country’s Foreign minister thus negating the purported letter of resignation submitted to his boss.
For a couple of days rumours emanating from some web based information have been rife in the streets of Hargeisa the Somaliland capital on the alleged conflict between the president and his FM and subsequent letter of resignation.
“I wish to inform all Somalilanders in the country and Diaspora that reports of conflict and my resignation are false” said Mohamed Behi while urging media houses to act professional thence disburse only factual news.
