BURAO (Somalilandsun) –The presidential elections slated for mid 2015 must be held on time.
This was stated during a Wadani party function in Burao by its chairman and presidential candidate Abdirahman Irro.
“While we support the government’s activities in national defence we ask that it should not be used as excuse to postpone 2015 presidential elections” said Irro who doubles as the speaker of the Somaliland parliament to his Togdeer supporters in Burao.
The remarks by Irro were in reference to ongoing military operations in the eastern regions specifically Taleeh (to rout Khatumoists) and Hengalool districts where Gas of Puntland’s plans clan mayhem.
The slated 2015 presidential elections pits incumbent Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo and his Kulmiye party against Wadani Party’s Abdirahman Irro and UCID’s Jamal Ali Hussein
