HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The late Dr Omar Elni Dixood (Dihood) who passed away on Saturday has been buried in Hargeisa.
At the burial the Somaliland president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo who was among mourners termed the deceased as a gallant son of the country having been at the forefront of the fight for re-independence and subsequent service in various capacities.
Commiserating with the family, relatives and friends of the late Dr Dixood urged them bear thier lose shared by the nation with courage and dignity.
Ironically the deceased who was a special advisor to the Somaliland president was buried for reasons unfathomable at his farm in the capital Hargeisa rather than at the national cemetery as is the norm with departed senior public figures.
