NAIROBI (Somalilandsun) – The speaker of the Somaliland Parliament and leader of Wadani party flew to Kenya via Addis Ababa subsequently arriving in Nairobi on the morning of Wednesday 20th August 2015.
Upon arrival in Nairobi Abdirahman Mohamed Irro met the USA envoy to Kenya Ambassador Robert F. Godec with whom various issues pertaining to cooperation between the US and Somaliland were discussed.
Other issued on the menu included the democratization process and more so the decision of the constitutional court which arbitrated the disputed elections dates and ruled in favour of the Guurti. The administration in Washington is a major partner to the country’s democratization process as well as in humanitarian and Development.
Later on the opposition party of Wadani chief met with The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia and Somaliland!, Amb Nicholas Kay with whom our sources in Nairobi reveal the gist of discussions was similar with the earlier one with Amb Godec.
The speaker of the Somaliland Parliament cum leader of Wadani party Abdirahman Mohamed Irro will spend 3 days in Nairobi where he will also meet international donors’ representatives and the Somaliland democratisation steering committee.
On his return leg via Addis Ababa he will during his two days stay meet for discussions:-
1) The Ethiopian Prime Minister
2) The African Union chief and
3) The British Ambassador to the Ethiopia
