Somaliland parliamentary Anti graft and public property protection committee at meeting with ministry of information and culture staff

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – “our meeting with the ministry of Information officials is in pursuit of constitutional stipulations”
This was informed by the chairman of the Somaliland parliamentary Anti-graft and public property protection committee MP Mohamed Hirsi Ali ‘Obama’ during a post meeting joint press briefing at parliament buildings in Hargeisa.
revealing that the purposes of the meeting was to get a glimpse on ongoing activities as well as constraints if any engulfing the ministry MP Obama said that his committee was satisfied by reports given by the ministry as pertains its mandate.
“Our discussions related to the ministry’s budget, staff, operations and equipment at hand among others was very fruitful” added MP Obama
Speaking on the broad ministry staff he led to parliament buildings Minister Abdilahi Mohamed Dahir Ukuse said that it is imperative for public agencies to have oversight body’s pursuing activities thus ensure apt public services.
Informing that his ministry facilitated the parliamentary committee with relevant documents related to various aspects of its quest, Minister Ukuse added

“We also dwelt deeply on issues related to media laws and more specifically about the profusion of tribally inclined information for public consumption”
The ministerial team led by minister Ukuse included his deputy Ms Shukri Harir Ismail, Director General Mohamed Elmi ‘Ilka’ase and all departmental heads as well as the outgoing director of the national TV Khadar Ali Gas who shifted desks to became presidential media coordinator.
Prior to its current engagement the Somaliland parliamentary Anti-graft and public property protection committee held a similar meeting with post and telecommunications ministry.
