Somalilandsun- The political parties want the best for the country though in disparate ways.
This was stated by the chairman of Guurti Elder Suleiman Mahmud Aden during a presser in his chambers where he strongly cautioned against politics of character assassination during ongoing campaign for Somaliland presidential elections.
“Rather than sell your clan why not sell your party manifestoes thus entice voters” said Elder Suleiman adding that whichever party wins shall rule whole country.
As he decried the heated political climate perverting the country, one week to the three weeks of campaigning the Guurti leader said that politics of abuse shall not be tolerated anywhere in the country.
Turning to members of Guurti, the upper chamber of the Somaliland parliament Suleiman Mahmud said “though each of you belongas to a particular party, you are also national elders thence improper to be visible campaigning”
The sentiments by the Guurti leader Elder Suleiman Mahmud Aden comes in the heels of a police announcement that a number of suspects are in custody in relation to the attack on Wadani party presidential candidate Abdirahman Irro and that on the offices of Kulmiye party in Sheikh Madar estate Hargeisa.
