HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – “Any Differences between citizens can and should be reconciled peacefully through discussions and not the barrel of the gun”
This was stated by Garaad Jama Garaad Ismail a prominent traditional leader from Sool region of Somaliland during an address to a large welcoming committee at the Egal International where he landed in company of presidency minister Hirsi Haji Ali and his social services colleague Abdirizaq Khalif who were the official escort of the Garaad from Djibouti.
Garaad Jama whose linked up with him at the airport after being flown all the way from Mogadishu for the rare and historic visit had also in tow a number of senior officials of the Khatumo Secession movement among them finance minister designate a mister Osman.
The arrival of the traditional leader who has been an adherent to unionism with Somalia and main backer of the Khatumo secessionists of Sool region could not hide his amazement at the warm welcome accorded him by thousands of Somalilanders among them ordinary citizens, government ministers and officials, parliamentarians and Gurti elders as well as politicians.
“Am very pleased to be home and sincerely appreciate your warm hearted welcome “said Garaad Jama Garaad Ismail who has not visited the Somaliland capital for many years.
