Somalilandsun – Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Dr. Saad Ali Shire and delegation accompanied with minister of Health, Mr. Suleiman Issa Ahmed (Haglatosie) and Chairman of Somaliland Supreme Court Mr. Ahmed Aden H. Ali Court travelled to Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday morning 29th Nov.
Speaking to the local media at the VIP Lounge at Egal International Airport in Hargeisa before departing, Dr. Saad Ali Shire said his delegation was going to Kenya to meet and have discussions with the UN and the other international organizations that have cooperation and joint implement aid and development projects in Somaliland. “The motive of our trip intends to meet the embassies and the organizations we have cooperation on the development sectors to have discussions on promoting the cooperation and improving the relations we share,” said the minister. “During our stay in Kenya, we shall meet the embassies and the organizations, and we shall also meet the Somaliland Community in Kenya and we are going with schedule as UN agency has arranged these meetings for us. Meeting with the President and the Foreign Minister is not in our plan but we are trying to meet them as well,” said the minister.
Minister Shire stated that his delegation is going to work on reopening and improving its functions of Somaliland Liaison Office in Kenya. “The ministry has many functions and the function of seeking recognition is a key agenda we are raising and working hard for. We want to improve efficiency of our representative offices in foreign countries and mobilize our Diaspora communities and our friends and collectively work on securing international recognition for Somaliland,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Dr. Saad Ali Shire.
