HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – A ministerial delegation from the government of Denmark is on an official visit to Somaliland.
The Team led by the Danish minister of Trade and Development Mogens Jensen and consists of some senior officials and a large coterie of around 20 journalists from various media houses in Copenhagen landed around 4.30pm (12th Aug) at the Egal international Airport in Hargeisa the capital of Somaliland.
It is not yet clear what the actual objective the Danish delegation’s visit pertains to, since Minister Jensen who was received by the Somaliland minister of foreign affairs Mohamed Behi Younis did not brief the assembled local journalists at the airports VIP lounge as is customary.
Upon completing the protocols of official reception Minister Behi Younis who left accompanied by his interior colleague arriving from Nairobi Mohamed Waran’ade informed that an official press conference shall be conducted tomorrow morning where the Danish minister shall address issues pertinent to his team’s visit.
Yet to be verified information indicates that Minister Jensen passed through Mogadishu where he met with Villa Somalia officials before proceeding to Somaliland.
