Somalilandsun -For the Somaliland Extractive sector to prosper the government should fulfill its roles around security and protection for all affected parties in collaboration with local communities, Regional actors and oil companies’ representatives.
This is according to findings of an extractive Sector consultative meeting with community within areas affected by oil exploration, hosted by the Somaliland Non state Actors forum-SONSAF in which participants including chiefs, religious and traditional leaders, women and youth also concurred that oil exploration and exploitation of natural resource at large is a necessity for the country.
