DVK’s Deepak Kuntawala Honoured at The India International Foundation’s Annual Awards

Somalilandsun – The financial alchemist Deepak Kuntawala, Founder of DVK, a dynamic
global commodity trading and finance boutique company, was honoured at the Marriott Heathrow Hotel in London, when he was presented with the ‘Achievement In Business’ Award at The India International Foundation’s ninth Annual Awards.
The glittering ceremony was presided over by Chief Guest Stephen Hammond MP, the Minister for Transport and a supporter of India’s development. The event was attended by a host of renowned UK-Asian and Subcontinent VIPs, dignitaries, industry captains and public figures including Lord and Lady Swraj Paul, the Deputy Mayor of Hounslow and the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, amongst others.
Deepak was recognised for his gifted sense of entrepreneurship and dynamic vision and the several industry firsts he has pioneered in international markets. Under his able leadership, Deepak has taken DVK to new heights by enhancing its portfolio of business interests across private equity, wealth management, structured trade and commodity finance, trading, capital markets, infrastructure, real estate, mining, aviation investment and fund management sectors. The company now has a presence in the following countries and cities, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Bahrain, Johannesburg, China, Hong Kong, UAE, Switzerland, Moscow, Nairobi, Ghana, Malawi and Madrid.
The Awards are now in their ninth successful year, and have consistently recognised the stellar achievements of the global Asian community across entrepreneurship, Science, Art & Culture, Media and Philanthropy. Each year the Awards are judged by a panel of distinguished experts and the likes of the Deputy High Commissioner of India.

DVK’s exciting expansion plans for the KSA and Gulf region are due to begin in Mid-2013, and are scheduled to include the launch of a Shari’ah investment fund, as well as key infrastructure projects spearheaded exclusively by DVK Saudi in the Gulf Region, China, private equity transactions in Russia and various parts of Africa. The company’s successful performance in the last quarter has led to the establishment of a DVK office in Bahrain. With DVK’s successful aviation wing, the organisation also has an exclusive mandate to expand its aviation cargo business in the Middle East, especially within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States, CIS region and Africa. The company will also increase its acquisition of private jet businesses, aircraft, and develop new markets in the Gulf region. In addition, Deepak personally is in discussions with heads of Qatar to launch a Shari’ah Investment Fund which will be aimed solely at ladies in the Middle East.
Ever the innovative entrepreneur, Deepak recently chartered new territory when he established the DVK Global Entertainment Investments to nurture and finance interesting and unique global entertainment projects. The fund’s first heavyweight project is its title sponsorship of the critically-acclaimed, sell-out European premiere of ‘An Evening with Pacino’, which will take place at the London Palladium on the 2nd of June 2013. DVK Global Entertainment Investments will be governed by leading international law firm Mishcon De Reya and structured by the world’s largest professional services firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
