Somalilandsun- The President of the Republic H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi graced a function that unveiled the camel farmers’ association.
This is the first time that such an association has been set up for the development of the sector.
The Head of State was flanked by the Livestock and Fisheries Development Minister Hon. Said Sulub, the Information, Culture, and National Guidance Minister Hon. Suleiman Ali Kore, Agriculturural Development minister Hon. Ahmed Mumin Seed and the National Police Force Commander Brig. General Abdillahi amongst several senior eminent personalities.
To welcome them was the association’s chairman Mr. Mustaffa Ali Duale who spoke at length on the need of the organization for the development of the sector.
The Livestock Minister likewise dwelt on the importance of camel as a farm animal whereas his information counterpart heralded the new age of our pastoralists to indulge into intensive farming such that maximum profile may be accrued from their production.
He noted that time has reached where intensive farming may be focused on hence the sector would be competitive at the international level.
The organization is expected to do a lot of dissemination of animal husbandry ethics such that the country may achieve great results for the pastoralists in the near future.
