Former US President Barack Obama has said that election results demonstrate that the American people want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer practical solutions to the challenges facing the country.
In a post on his X account, Obama said that electoral victories had been made possible by candidates from diverse states and communities, united by shared values, a commitment to public service, and a determination to put the interests of the people they represent above all else.
He also expressed his gratitude to thousands of election officials and volunteers from both political parties who played a role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections.
