HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) In a dramatic turn of events President Silanyo has made a major reshuffle in his cabinet.

The reshuffle which was announced in a presidential decree released from the Somaliland presidency in Hargeisa saw senior ministers fired, others transferred as well as new appointments.

The changes effected in the cabinet reshuffle are as follows:

New Nominees

1. Abdiaziiz Mohamed Samale finance minister

2. Abdi Yusuf Du'ale (Bobe) Minister of Information and public Guidance.

3. Ali Said Raygal Minister of youth, sports and culture.

4. Mahmoud Ahmed Barre-Garaad minister of labour and social affairs.

5. Abdilahi Abokor Osman, interior deputy minister for security affairs.

6. Osman Abdilahi Sahardiid (Addaani) State minster for finance (New Post)

7. Mowlid Mahmud Ibrahim (Foreign affairs deputy minister)

The president who did not appoint a replacement for the fired posts and telecommunication minister asked Hon Sa'ad Ali Shire the minister of planning and national development to hold the post portfolio until further notice. He becomes the first minister to officially hold to ministerial portfolios at the concurrently.

Main culprits of the reshuffle which has been highly anticipated is the ministry of finance that saw the minister Mohamed Hashi and his deputy fired to be replaced by Abdiaziz Mohamed Samale the immediate Former Parliament Vice speaker.

The appointment of Samale to the cabinet brings to two the number of minister appointed by Silanyo from parliament. The first was that of current interior minister Mohamed Nuur Arale Duur.

The appointment of Ali Saeed Raygal to the cabinet as sports and culture minister comes as no surprise as he is known to have been campaigning for this office from as early as mid-last year during preparations for the regional sports tournament held at Almzy stadium in Burao. Mr Raygal is the immediate Former director general of the national Printing agency

In the decree president Silanyo thanked those he fired for their diligence service to the public while urging them to hand over immediately to facilitate continued operations at their former offices.

President Silanyo stressed on the fact that public office belongs to the people and it was his prerogative to ensure that suitable persons hold the offices on behalf of the people. He told those outgoing that their removal was in that basis and not personal.

As per those appointed the presidents asked them to fulfil their mandates properly thus earn public esteem.
